It has come to my attention from several reliable sources that the owner of this junkyard rents his collection of highly unusual and rare cars to the movie industry. I've been told he will "shoot trespassers (like me) on sight." Be careful out there kids.

Doin' time for bein' young

yesterday I spent time at my favourite place in  Auckland VADA salon. Paul, who is hairdresser and guru to me ... worked absolute wonders once again. The picture above is increadibly similar to how Im feeling. Its longer but still black and rockabilly-styled ... and makes me want to go all out (thinkTraci Lordes in 'Cry Baby'). anyway --- it was all for a music video shoot that I had on later that night. Which I cannot think about now after hours stomping around in mile-high stilletos and no sleep. SO Im going to kick it in flats this Sunday and continue moving to the apartment on the coast which means getting rid of everything that hasnt been given a second glance in months. Anyone for a increadible collection of lingerie and corsets that i never give deserved attention to?

Rebel Dance, like Bertrand, is inspired by world travel and aspires to be for travellers "expressing their power through art and celebration" (Katie Olsen). Soko (a Paris-based duo) the girl is singing about a guy who left her for someone else. How sweet when she sings, "We would have had a boy called Tom, and a girl called Susan, born in Japan." Born in Japan! I love that detail; it's exactly how you fantasize about the future in somewhat obscure detail.

Which hair trends do you love for S/S’08?

Fringes are big with a loose soft messy wave. It’s a great way to update your look without taking off overall length. Kate Moss wears this well. Balliage and sponging for colour – a look that has the effect of not trying yet the colour is sensational.

How can we get the look?

Firstly, ask your stylist or colourist for their advice they will access your face shape and colouring. Having a fringe isn’t as tricky as people think in fact it’s really easy to look after. Then all you need to do is style the fringe and apply ghd Fat Hair, $35, to the ends for that messy tousled finish. If your hair is dirty you can cheat and just wash the fringe and leave the rest of your hair until you get a salon blow-dry.

What product could you not live without?
Wella High Hair Ocean Spritz, $21.50. It gives hair a rough feel and loads of volume that holds your style.

the Naked and Famous

The next in a line of friends that I have found to be either naked or famous... and in this case BOTH

paraphrased and flip reversed: Quite possibly the best band you’ve never heard (yet) with a debut EP “This Machine” released May 5th through Round Trip Mars (home to SJD, Phelps & Munro, James Duncan, Unitone HiFi etc), they are already further down the track than many who have been around a lot longer. The band, named after a line from a Tricky song, are based around the ferociously talented pairing of composer/control freak Thom Powers and vocal siren/lyricist Alisa Xayalith, though they operate as a 4 piece live.
